We learn of Dr. Diop’s visit to the US.

There are numerous illustrations. One is amazed, as Diop explains and demonstrates that his native language, Wolof, is genetically related to the language spoken by the ancient Black Africans we now call “ancient Egyptians”. The attempt to separate ancient Black Egypt from the rest of Black Africa rest on a deliberately distorted and perverted use of the historical records. To take Egypt out of Africa grsat to engage in myth making and the setting up of modern intellectual taboos that can only be challenged by offending the Gods of Western Orthodoxy.

Diop took up this challenge and struck death blows to Euro-centrism Facts are stubborn things! The book will allow you to study how African scholars, such as Dr.

Diop, are telling their own story, free of any intellectual masters. There is a lot of information crammed into this book of pages. The contributors give various perspectives and interpretations of Diop’s work and comment on how Diop’s work has changed the writing of the history and culture of Africa.

Diop has never even mentioned the word “Afrocentic’ or “Afrocentrism” in any of his works, either in the original French or in any English translations of which I am aware. Afrocentrism is more correctly associated with Dr. Molefi Kete Asante, who popularized a historical perspective quite common among African Americans from the Colonial Period of American history to the present.

Afrocentrism seems to reflect a very early attempt by African American thinkers such as Martin Delaney,Frederick Douglas, David Walker and a host of others to correct the gross and deliberate historical and cultural distortions about African peoples and African cultures by European historical dogmas and racial ideologies. Africa has never been outside of human history. It seems to be used now days as a pejorative label. I applaud the editors, Afrkcan. If studied seriously, one can learn a lot from this book.

Dr Diop directly addresses and confronts the fabrication of the history of Africa and black people, using the testimony of the ancient Europeans contemporaries if the Egyptians such as Herodotus, Diodorus of Sicily, Aeschylus, and even Aristotle himself to establish the blackness of ancient Egypt by their own words.

Europe never denied ancient Egypt’s blackness until roughly when the need to justify slavery led to this effort to falsify the history of the black race. Dr Diop has produced a monumental correction to world history which needs to be taught and used to correct history books the world over.
